Reuters-Vodafone Live! phone sales near 1.5 million

LONDON (Reuters) - Chris Gent, the outgoing head of mobile phone giant Vodafone Group, says the company has sold almost 1.5 million of its flagship Live! camera-equipped phones to date.

Gent told a news conference that the company VOD.L , which earlier beat forecasts with a 26 percent rise in annual core earnings, had sold just under 0.5 million phones since hitting its sales target of one million at the end of March.

Sales of Live! handsets, which first hit high streets around seven months ago, have eclipsed rival offerings. The phone is now available in 13 countries.
